Dover is a free ATS for startups with a marketplace of fractional recruiters. Its AI scoring is a Premium feature that gives one 0–100 score in three bands and needs your own AI API key. SquarePeg works inside the ATS you already use, gives every candidate a subscore and resume evidence for each criterion, adds company data the resume leaves out, and checks every candidate for authenticity.
Dover is a free applicant tracking system for startups plus a marketplace of fractional recruiters; it says 600+ companies hire with Dover. Its $199-a-month Premium tier adds AI resume review, knockout questions, an AI notetaker and an interview scheduling tool. Dover's AI gives each applicant one 0–100 score, and you hover over it to see why.
Based on each company's public website and announcements, checked October 2026. Unknown means we couldn't find it described there.
Score up to three of your own resumes or LinkedIn profiles in the demo, free and without connecting your ATS. When you're ready, connect your ATS and start with 2,000 free credits.
As an AI company, SquarePeg gives us a lot of credibility. It has saved us so much time on screening and improved quality of hire.

Dover is an ATS with AI scoring added on. SquarePeg is a screening layer for the ATS you already have.
Every score shows its evidence. SquarePeg scores applicants as they apply, plus past candidates and sourced profiles, against criteria you write in plain language or generate from the job description, each marked Required, Preferred or Bonus. Every criterion gets a 0–100 subscore with a written explanation and the resume lines it's based on, so you review the best people first and can explain every ranking. Eligibility rules (location or radius, time zone, screening answers, a previous rejection reason or the application source) run first, so ineligible applicants are never scored or charged.
Dover's AI resume review scores applicants "against your custom prompt" and gives each one a score from 0 to 100 in three bands; hover over the score to see why. There's no subscore for each criterion, and it uses resumes and application answers only, with no company data. Knockout questions on Premium reject applicants who give disqualifying answers.
SquarePeg connects to Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, iCIMS, Recruitee and other ATSs and syncs your jobs and applicants. SquarePeg makes rejections and stage changes in your ATS just as if you had made them there, so your ATS emails and automations still run, and the Chrome extension opens it right next to the job or candidate you're viewing. No migration and no new system for your team to learn.
Dover is its own ATS, so to use its AI you move your hiring into Dover. It connects to Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Zoom, Calendly and Slack, posts to 50+ job boards and offers an API on Premium. It doesn't run inside Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or another ATS.
Every candidate gets an authenticity confidence rating (High, Mixed, Limited, Low or Unknown), kept separate from their score. It's built from LinkedIn, phone, email and resume signals, and it also flags a phone, email or resume shared with a differently named applicant. It's included in the credit that scores the candidate. Signals inform your review; nothing is rejected automatically.
Dover doesn't describe any fraud or authenticity checks. Its "Application history across Dover" shows how often an applicant has applied to other companies on Dover.
Rediscovery searches past applicants in your ATS for people who fit a new opening and scores them on the same criteria as today's applicants. Outbound sourcing finds new candidates outside your ATS on the same scale, and you reveal an email only for the people you want to contact. Every resume gets company context such as industry, headcount, funding and public or private status. And you can find, compare and fine-tune just by asking: the SquarePeg agent finds past candidates who fit a new role, compares your top applicants, explains any score, and can review and update a job's criteria and eligibility rules, in the web app or inside your ATS.
Dover has a CRM with drip campaigns, a Chrome extension that sends email outreach from LinkedIn, and resume search across your candidates. Dover doesn't describe a profile database of its own; outbound help comes from recruiters in its marketplace. Its MCP lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants connect to your hiring data.
Credits work across every feature, there are no seat fees and no platform fee, and your whole team can log in. Scoring an applicant or a rediscovered candidate uses 1 credit; sourcing a candidate uses 1 and revealing their email 2. Rediscovery also has a one-time fee to index your ATS, charged at cost. Rescoring is always free, the agent is free, applicants who fail your eligibility rules cost nothing, and new accounts start with 2,000 free credits, no credit card required. See the pricing page for current rates.
Dover's ATS is free with unlimited users, jobs and candidates. AI scoring needs Premium, listed at $199 per month, plus your own AI API key billed by the AI provider (about $0.004 per applicant, per Dover). Marketplace recruiters set their own rates; Dover says its average cost per hire is $4.8k.
"Most of the resumes I send to the hiring managers from the top scoring, they're like, 'Oh, yeah. These are perfect.' So it just makes my job so much easier."
No. SquarePeg connects to Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, iCIMS, Recruitee and other ATSs, and makes rejections and stage changes there just as if you had made them. Dover's AI scoring only works inside Dover's own ATS.
Dover gives one 0–100 score in three bands, with a hover explanation. SquarePeg adds a subscore, a written explanation and the resume lines behind each criterion, each marked Required, Preferred or Bonus, and it uses company data like headcount and funding that the resume leaves out.
